The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines, is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia.

In the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of 7,641 islands, with a total area of 300,000 square kilometres, which are broadly categorized in three main geographical divisions from north to south: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

It is the world's twelfth-most-populous country, with diverse ethnicities and cultures. Manila is the country's capital, and its most populated city is Quezon City.

 

The Philippines has a tropical maritime climate which is usually hot and humid. There are three seasons: a hot dry season from March to May, a rainy season from June to November, and a cool dry season from December to February.

  2.  Medical Council of India (MCI): Several universities in the Philippines are recognized by the MCI, allowing Indian students to pursue MBBS degrees and take the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) upon their return to India.

  3. Commission on Higher Education (CHED): CHED is the governing body that oversees and regulates higher education institutions in the Philippines. Medical universities recognized by CHED adhere to stringent academic and operational standards.

 

Documents Required:-

When applying for an MBBS program in the Philippines, prospective students need to prepare and submit a variety of documents. The specific requirements may vary slightly from one university to another, but generally, the following documents are commonly required:

Passport: A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines.

High School Transcripts and Certificates:

  1. Original and photocopies of high school mark sheets and certificates (10th and 12th grade).

  2. Certificates of any other relevant qualifications.

Medical Certificate: A medical fitness certificate, including HIV test reports, Hepatitis B vaccination certificate, and other medical test results as specified by the university.

Police Clearance Certificate: A certificate indicating a clean criminal record.

Financial Affidavit: Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses. This can include bank statements, sponsorship letters, or an affidavit of support.

NEET Certificate: The MBBS in the Philippines for Indian students should keep the NEET Scorecard with themselves.

Passport-sized Photographs: Usually around 8-12 recent passport-sized photos with a white background.

 

Steps to Apply :-

  1. Choose a University: Research and select the medical university in the Philippines where you wish to apply.

  2. Gather Documents: Prepare all the required documents as per the university's admission guidelines.

  3. Submit Application: Complete and submit the application form along with the necessary documents.

  4. Await Acceptance: Wait for the acceptance letter from the university.

  5. Apply for Visa: Once accepted, apply for a student visa at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in your country.

  6. Travel Arrangements: Make travel arrangements to the Philippines once the visa is granted.

The MD degree at AMASOM is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) as equivalent to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree similarly offered in the UK, Australia, India and other Commonwealth countries.
